the city councel is elected into the Municipal level of government. I know this because the CITY councel is only in the local area, that is why the city councel has the word CITY in it.

The roles and responsibility are to the citizens of each city. For example, Toronto's
Municipal government is in charge of the banking, postal servace, and education.

The citezens of the city representing, elects the Municipal government, and every 4 years they are re-elected to new people. The Municipal government works for the Mayor and the representing people over the age of 18 in the city or town they rule.

I disagree with you because the municipal goverment is responsible for cities and towns. I agree when you said that they work for the citizens. You can extend by saying that they work for the citizens because they need a leader to take care of the garbage collection and the transportation around the city.

1.The major civic centre in a municipal government is a city/town hall and the members is the mayor and the councillors.

2.The people that get elected to the municipal positions are the councillors and the mayor.

3.There is 1 mayor and 44 councillors in the city of toronto. (45 members in total)

4.The roles of the mayor is to take care of the entire city/town and the councilers take care of small sectoins of the city/town.

5.In toronto spicificly, the people select/elect the mayor and councillors. The councillors work for the mayor but municipal-wise the mayor is the boss of everyone in the city!!!!!!

A municipal level of goverment is Toronto City Council. The council is responsible for governing the city and making city laws. The significant building is City Hall. The key political figures are the Mayor and City Councilors. Our Mayor is Rob Ford. The people who get elected live in Toronto and are voted into office. Also 45 people get elected for each city's municipal government. The official titles are Mayor and Councilors. Toronto's municipal government is split into committees that have many different roles. For example, one of the committees is parks and environment. It is responsible for Toronto's natural environment. Some other responsibilities for Toronto's municipal government are TTC transit and Toronto's garbage collection. The citizens take a vote and elect who they want to be in the municipal government. The government works for the city.

some of the municipal governments roles are: garbage and libraries because it is the TPL and not the OPL. Also, garbage is decided by the mayor.

i also agree with you gabe:
      citizen goes to election
      citizen votes
then the people count the votes(lets say rob ford lost to a random person)
      rob ford<random person
random person goes to office and goes to be mayor

The municipal government would take part in the development by giving the construction workers building permanents which allows them to build there.
